I read your post with two thoughts. 1) how can I attend one of these retreats in the future and 2) how could something like what happened in Albany be allowed to happen? I have to think that much of this antisemitism stems from sheer ignorance which coupled with hate is a nasty combination. Education about each other has to be the key to breaking down the barriers to each other, to letting each other know we are all made of exactly the same flesh, bone, and blood no matter our beliefs. How do we start that discussion? More than appalled, I am saddened to read about this.

1. We'll announce new retreats soon!

2. Agree.

Oh it is terribly depressing to me to read about other authors having this sort of flagrantly reactive and not thoughtful reaction to a simple difference between humans. How awful. It makes me very sad, Zibby. Thank you for sharing. We authors are supposed to be the rational, thoughtful ones who respect one another and respond with care…

I loved this! I'm a reader and very happy with that. Also that beautiful soul who had the brain tumor removed, I'm glad she's okay! 🙏 Looks like everyone is having fun. See you in NYC.

Funding from oil-rich Arab countries has insidiously placed anti-Zionist professors in most major US universities for decades where they miseducate about Jewish history and the founding of the State of Israel. We’ve been blind/nonreactive to this for too long. Time to take action.

I sound like a crazy🤣but we had just been discussing what happened between last years retreat and this years. I was telling the ladies about my surgery. Sounds random. 🩷amazing retreat, incredible writing inspiration, vulnerable author talks and plenty of writerly advice. Incredible! Thanks Zibby.

I love your first live Substack! Palm Springs is a great place to be on retreat. Your event itself sounds so similar to what I created in my second manuscript. I connected my 21 bookstores tour to learning about the magic of bookstores, books collected, each author’s creative journey, the overall writing process, and healing. The manuscript also aims to keep readers thinking upwards, especially in challenging times. Congratulations to what looks like a really successful retreat! Sending light to all the pain you describe in this post! 📚☀️🙏🏻

Not sharing the stage with a fellow writer is just rude and racist. Even if the reasoning behind their behavior is not agreeing with what's happening, that's not how you treat others and it's a terrble example. I'm terrible sad and upset this happened.

THIS IS NOT OK! Enough. I'm going to DM Elisa now. If we're silent, we're complicit. And yes, I'm with Lindsey -- can't wait for the next retreat!

WT actual F? How can we let Albany know that this is wrong?

ShaRon Rea is an author I had the honor to work with when she was developing her mission of No Judgment. Just Love.® (www.njjl.world). The motto of #NJJL is: "Love closes all the spaces that judgment creates." May all writers/readers all create a world with more love so that the painful spaces close and everyone may live to read and write in better conditions for all humanity.
